it would be shouted by an arsenal fan, it is the football clubs nickname, means 'come on the arsenal'

so yeah, basically i want to have my blog represent that UP THE GUNNERS! mentality and my name is gary, so thus i've gone with a blog name that hopefully sticks as a new nickname for me: UP THE GUNNERS GARY! so that's right, you can call me UGG as short for "Up [the] Gunners Gary" which also seems to be organic since lots of ppl say "ugg" when i'm around, so that said let's get right to it.
i have been a stalwart of efnet IRC since the mid-late 90s, hell arguably the mid-90s when i used to use cmaster.exe to BS credit card #s needed to get AOL free trials which would give me anywhere from 4-30 days of free trial AOL/internet. there's some good football-proper talk on efnet, including but not limited to #soccer, #premierleague, and of course #arsenal (where a precocious princess ironically named pea finds me to the the proverbial pea under her stack of mattresses whenever she gets confortable) and she despises my occasional monologues/soliloquies in the dead # late at night (american time, aka early early morning UK time) when i go and type up a storm without even so much as a response until later on when they're all like whoa WTF IS WRONG WITH THIS GUY!?!?!
to give you an idea of what's wrong with me, gary, aka emessiah, allow me to give you my latest rant/realization about the state of the cannon:

(after the dashes comes the realization that i should make an arsenal blog and indeed it will be my newfound nickname of "up the gunners gary!"
so yeah does that say it all? if not it's late and i'm tired and i won't expound beyond that.... but stay tuned true-/non-/believers, for the best is yet to come.... and allow me to disclaim, i only really expected arsenal to finish top4 (and if you bellieve their historical pattern since 06-07 or thereabouts, it's nigh time for them to finish 3rd.
however, despite how unfuckwithable city seems to be (i am assuming they walk to a domestic treble unless someone steps in and does otherwise) i think that being 1pt out of first right now and 2pts ahead of 3rd place chelsea with city/chelsea playing each other in their next PL matchip, it's nigh time to pray for a draw and gain 2pts on each of them, if not gain 3pts on both of then..... and then when the schedule gets rough (oh boy we'll get to that) then yeah, get some wins....make some stuff happen....and who knows what the future holds?
the future is never guaranteed. go spend 150mil on players and who knows who get injured? busted out? or other teams rise up (COUGHCOUGHCOUGHCOUGHCOUGHUNITEDCOUGHCOUGHCOUGHCOUGHCOUGH) to change the landscape.
alls i know is that despite city obviously being the team to beat this season they're only one point ahead of you. arsenal needs some more offense from BONAFIDE STRIKERS AKA NUMBER 9S... GO GET THEM. EVNE IF THEY'RE LESS THAN THE LEAGUE-AVERAGE OLIVIER GIROUD (i.e. you could put ~10 strikers in giroud's position with this team and have similar results. we need someone who lifts up the team around him) JUST GET ME SOMEONE WHO CAN KICK THE BALL IN THE DAMN NED.
manchester united was there to be beat in an 0-1 loss that only happened cuz RvP had a world class header that got past kieran gibbs, who wa sin perfect place for it but so surprised that it actually came his way he whiffed. or after deluofeu equalizes in the 2nd half @ emorates you only got once decent shot at goal, and it was a last second desperation kick by giroud that hit crossbar....ironically the kind of strike he needs to take more often.
and southampton? man.... allowing them to equalize in under 1min from taking the lead, just like deulofeu did for everton @emirates, albeit circa ~83' as opposed to ~63' today..... that took the wind out of their sails. and arsenal is a bunch of mental midgets.... expert frontrunners, but give 'em some adversity and they're ok with losing the big one cuz they;ll win enough small ones to be invited back to the CL dance next year, and they're good enough to make it 14yrs str87 out of the group stages.... but then the top top top teams in the world take them out.
arsenal needs to go from very good world class team to top top quality world class team. and they need to do that by making some hard decisions with fan favorites like oliviver giroud and mikel arteta and saying "yes, they're fine if you wanna end up 4th with no real chance at silverware.... but if you want shiny trophies and parages, go get some world class players in their stead otherwise you're doomed to forever being in the team photo, but never being the MVP of the team.... c'est la vie.
